Position: Graphic-User Experience-Web Designer

What: PayScale.com (www.payscale.com) is the leading online provider of employee compensation data. We are looking for a passionate professional who will bring together visual design and information architecture as a single discipline to create simple, clean, intuitive, and inspired interfaces. In this role you will have the opportunity to drive a comprehensive re-design and renewal of the consumer experience on the www.PayScale.com website.
The Work
• Design new ways to visualize and represent complex datasets
• Create broad visual design and style, including fonts, colors and iconography
• Define information architecture, interaction, user experience, and features
• Build pixel perfect designs, including graphic assets from wireframes and specs
• Collect requirements from multiple stakeholders and balance competing interests
• Partner with highly technical teams and handle multiple projects in an agile, fast-paced environment
• Develop corporate identity elements, logos, and infographics
Qualifications
• Intuitive understanding of usability
• Artistic talent and skill using graphic applications like Photoshop
• Excellent analytical skills and ability to simplify complex concepts
• Strong point of view paired with a practical nature and common sense
• Experience in front-end web design, preferably on sites used by millions
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in art, design, human-computer interaction (HCI), or equivalent professional experience
• Ability to create CSS, develop basic HTML, prototype interactive elements in Javascript/AJAX/Flash a strong plus
• Extensive online portfolio demonstrating past work experience
