Position: Senior User Experience Designer

What: The Advanced Gaming Technology team is building exiting new offerings aimed at propelling our customers gaming experiences to the next digital era, like Test Drive to the Amazon Appstore for Android (giving customers a realistic “try before you buy” experience for Android Apps and Games).
Can you visualize the most engaging and frictionless customer experience before a single line of code is written? This role faces constant challenge of building something intuitive while satisfying a wide range of business objectives – perfect for someone who can walk the fine balance between art and science.
As the Senior UX designer, you will own the User Interface (UI) architecture, usability, interaction flow, and aesthetics of our existing and future gaming experiences.
You will partner with product management, engineering and company leaders to successfully go from early stage product concepts to launch. As such, you will own and drive the creative direction of our products and services.
Responsibilities:
– Analyze user interface problems and create design solutions that meet measurable business goals and requirements
– Create user-centered designs by considering market analysis, customer feedback, technical constraints/opportunities and usability findings
– Work closely with the business team to develop use cases and high-level requirements
– Design the UI architecture, interface, and interaction flows of new web and on-device software applications for a variety of screen sizes and interaction models
– Quickly yet thoroughly create process flows, wireframes, and visual design mockups as needed to effectively conceptualize and communicate detailed interaction behaviors
– Present design work to the user experience team, product team, and Amazon.com executives for review and feedback
– Provide leadership in the area of mobile, tablet and 10 foot user interface innovations
Requirements:
- – 5+ years of experience as a user experience designer, interaction designer, information architect, or similar role
– Excellent communication, presentation, interpersonal and analytical skills including the ability to communicate complex, interactive design concepts clearly and persuasively across different audiences and varying levels of the organization
– Relentless desire for innovation, balanced with business needs, and customer expectations
– Experience working in a collaborative team and working directly with developers for implementation of designs
– Fluency in best practices for device-based information architecture and design, as well as strong knowledge of usability principles and techniques
– Bachelor’s degree in design, human-computer interaction (HCI), or equivalent professional experience
– Proficiency in a variety of design tools such as Photoshop, Illustrator, Fireworks, Visio, and Dreamweaver
– Visual design expertise demonstrated through mockups and style guidesPreferred Qualifications:
– Ability to prototype in HTML, JavaScript, and CSS, or Flash
– Familiarity with the technical considerations needed when designing for mobile and 10 foot devices
– Experience designing customer facing retail products
