Position: Game Analytics Manager

Since our founding in 2002, we have distributed more than 1 billion premium casual games across numerous genres to customers in more than 150 countries and 10 languages. The Game Analytics Manager we seek is responsible for leading our in-game analytics efforts to solve important business problems. The successful candidate is a manager that is analytical, well versed in statistics and SQL, tenacious, and an effective communicator. Big Fish has a culture of data-driven decision-making and this role will play an important part in driving our future business goals.
Responsibilities:
- Lead the ongoing measurement and analysis of key drivers of conversion, assessing the effectiveness of merchandising and marketing programs, and the design and measurement of multivariate tests.
- Lead the measurement and analysis of in-game behaviors to improve conversion and monetization while balancing optimal gameplay experience. This includes A/B and multivariate testing and collaboration with game producers and developers on implementation strategies.
- Communicate findings and actionable insights to key business stakeholders on an ongoing basis.
- Stay current on emerging analysis tools, strategies, and trends; continue to educate self analytically, technically, and technologically. Mentor the Game Analytics team on state of the art, best practices, and self-improvement
- Assist managers and teams throughout the company to understand the power and value of an analytical approach to decision-making, and provide them with the insights that contribute to the strategic goals of the organization.
- Function independently with little supervision, proactively taking ownership of key analytical projects. Engage with stakeholders to assess existing and upcoming business needs and maintain regular communication to update stakeholders on progress made on projects.
Requirements:
- 5+ years analytical experience working in the gaming business, marketing, advertising, market research or equivalent
- Experience running statistical tests, creating predictive models, and use of statistical tools. Experience with R preferred.
- Experience manipulating and analyzing large datasets, experience with data mining techniques.
- Advanced SQL programming and Microsoft Excel skills
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Comfortable presenting to senior management and large audiences
- High attention to detail and strong organizational skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced and business environment
- Comfortable working in a constantly changing business environment
- Bachelors or master’s degree in an analytical discipline (Statistics, Economics, Engineering, Computer Science, Marketing, Business, etc.)
- Experience managing intelligent and creative people
- MBA preferred
