Position: Marketing Research Analyst
Where: Seattle
What: Stripes39 is looking for detail oriented, analytical research professional with a strong background in library sciences to join the market research team. You will be responsible for performing real-time market research, identifying potential targets for specific sites, writing google queries and isolating the taxonomy of top audience segments such that we can better target them. You must be data-driven, excited about performing research and relentless in finding the right results. You can expect: a fast-paced, collaborative and friendly culture with high expectations. Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with Product Marketing, Product Management, Market Research teams to define research strategies for many projects
- Identify a target audience, segmentation and define an online research strategy for finding the right targets
- Contribute to weekly market research meetings and define data structures for recording and improving the collection of data
- Identify and implement solutions to better automate and streamline the existing research processes
- Work with content team to conduct research for proprietary content projects, e.g. develop topic lists, review market trends, conduct competitor comparisons, and prioritize marketing data requests.
Requirements/Qualifications:
- Bachelors or Masters in Library Science, Computer Science or Finance field
- 3+ years in a data-intensive research role performing research, business intelligence, corporate analytics, consulting, financial services, etc.
- Extensive MS Office Suite experience (2007 and newer, specifically with Excel)
- Experience researching, analyzing and summarizing data using advanced Google queries, Lexis-Nexus,
- ResearchPoint and other reference materials.
Preferred Candidates will also be able to demonstrate the following:
- Strong analytic and reporting skills required
- Writing and copy-editing experience
- Excellent communication skills, sense of prioritization, initiative, and accountability
- Ability to effectively collaborate, prioritize, and execute on tasks in a dynamic and high-pressure environment
- Ability to influence the decisions of senior business leaders through effective verbal and written communication, logical reasoning, and the presentation of alternatives
- Experience in SQL/MySQL with simple database queries
