Position: Assitant Editor
Where: Seattle
What: SPUN is a startup that wants to curate the best stuff in the city for our users to discover on their iPhone. We just launched in Seattle and we need a savvy, hard-working editor to find and share the best content on about your city.
Responsibilities: You’ll be expected to work closely with our editorial team and use our in-house software to find and publish the best content about Seattle throughout the day. You’ll have a major hand in determining what stories get published on our platform. You’ll maintain and grow a social media presence for SPUN in your city. You’ll help us grow, getting more people in your city to use SPUN. This is a freelance position that may lead to a full time job. Starting pay is $12/hr.
Requirements: You love exploring cities. You’re enthusiastic, positive, and not afraid of a challenge. You have an iPhone and love technology. You probably have a degree in English, Journalism, or New Media. You care deeply about at least four of the following subjects: food, art, film, celebrities, news, and fashion. You know how to get a following on social media. You work hard and can’t help but be deeply invested in anything you do.
1+ years experience in writing, editing, or web publishing (including personal blogs or Tumblrs) is recommended.
