Position: Design Manager

What: Perkins Coie LLP is currently seeking an experienced Design Manager to join their Seattle office!
Responsibilities: Reporting to the Director of Marketing Communications, this position will oversee daily work flow of the firm’s print, online and multimedia design projects and advertisements to ensure they are high quality, meet brand standards and are delivered on time/on budget. The Design Manager is responsible for managing the team of in-house and contract designers, serving as the interface between internal clients and the design team. Other responsibilities include administrative duties relative to print media traffic including assigning projects, establishing time lines and ensuring that delivery deadlines are met and integral clients have a high level of satisfaction with the work and service. The Design Manager will be responsible for creating and managing work flow tracking, intake and systems, as well as photo and logo libraries. The ability to manage a large volume of projects in a deadline-driven environment is required. Operations improvements are also key components of this position.
Requirements: Candidates must have demonstrated successful experience in managing a team of creative professionals within a professional services environment, experience managing external/contract resources and excellent organizational and prioritization skills with superb attention to detail. Strong written and verbal communication skills are critical, as are attention to detail and the ability to communicate effectively with all levels of the firm personnel and clients. Must be proficient in MS Office Suite, as well as familiar with Adobe CS software. The ideal candidate will be a self-starter, able to work independently and as part of a team and adaptable to changing priorities.
Specific skills required include a bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, design/branding or a related field as well as seven years’ experience in marketing, design or equivalent, including responsibility for managing projects and teams.
