Position: Digital Content Manager

What:  Digital Content Manager — Virtuoso.com will be responsible for selection, input and tagging of content in Virtuoso.com and other affiliated websites.

Responsibilities:
1. Manages all content appearing on Virtuoso.com.
2. Gathers content from Virtuoso sources (publications, travel catalogs and direct marketing) and creates digital articles, videos and photo galleries.
3. Enters content into the CMS tool (Kentico) and tags, associates with other content (text, graphics or photo).
4. Responsible for implementing good SEO standards per Virtuoso’s SEO strategy and provides analytics and reporting as requested including managing, encouraging and curating linked content and if necessary, managing canonical tagging for Virtuoso managerial generated content.
5. Collaborates with Product Owners and Webmaster for integration with Virtuoso.com features and functionality.
6. Collaborates with Virtuoso staff for content creation, including syndication of socially-generated content for print publication.
7. Creates, writes and designs new online content and pages as needed.
8. Manages the Virtuoso.com written style guide.
9. Curates a wide-variety of content from a variety of internal sources.
10. Educates and encourages managerial content input from Virtuoso Members and Suppliers using social media and user generated content tools.
11. Adheres to production schedules, managing the articles from conception to completion, including: fact-check and copy-edit changes within the CMS tool; writing captions, checking credit lines, and making all necessary editing corrections for clarity and length after entry into the CMS.
12. Stays abreast of timely news relevant to Virtuoso, developing and maintaining contacts both internally with colleagues in other departments and externally with travel suppliers as well as public relations contacts in the travel industry.
13. Collaborates with Virtuoso graphic designers on possible art and photo options for articles, ensuring all copyright issues are observed.
14. Travels occasionally for meetings and training as necessary.

Requirements:
• Bachelor’s degree in journalism, English, or communications.
• Minimum 2-3 years of experience as a web manager at a media organization.
• Solid managerial judgment; excellent verbal and written skills.
• Proficiency in CMS tool (Kentico preferred), HTML, MSOffice, InDesign, Internet
• Experience as Community Manager for consumer-facing website
• Experience managing brand guidelines and content strategy guidelines
• Knowledge of digital media technology, particularly content-management tools.
• Knowledge of social media platforms and SEO, additional SEO strategy experience a plus.
• Knowledge of socially generated/earned content a plus.
• Experience editing video and creating slide shows a plus.
• Solid knowledge of geography, cultural events, and international travel.
• Ability to multitask, prioritize and problem solve in a deadline-driven environment.
• Personable, professional team player.
