What: Looking for a self motivated, highly energetic Editing/Marketing Assistant to join the Administrative Support Team – someone who takes pride in developing first class work, exceeding client expectations, and beating deadlines.


The Editing/Marketing Assistant provides support to consulting staff in editing, word processing, document production, and development of graphics for proposals, client projects, and reports. They also support business development efforts by conducting RFP searches, editing proposals, and facilitating the proposal production process.

Responsibilities:

Editing

  • Draft and edit sections of proposals, client reports and projects, and website content.
  • Ensure that all documents are well written, coherent, and meet the firm’s established standards.
  • Work closely with project managers, marketing manager, and internal business partners to understand their needs and translate them to effective proposals and client deliverables.

Production

  • Perform a wide variety of document production tasks including: word processing, formatting, and structuring documents according to company standards.
  • Format and develop presentation materials, including PowerPoint presentations.
  • Utilize Microsoft Word styles and templates to format large and small technical documents and proposals that contain charts, tables, and graphics.
  • Create and/or assist others in the creation of color business charts, tables, and diagrams.
  • Assemble final documents and proposal packages including copying, binding, and shipping.

Marketing

  • Support business development efforts by providing support to the Marketing Manager, conducting RFP searches, editing proposals, and facilitating the proposal production process.

Support

  • Provide backup to receptionist and other office staff. Duties include answering telephones, occasional travel arrangements, or other duties as needed.

Requirements:

The Editing/Marketing Assistant must be a demonstrated professional with excellent written and verbal communication skills, diplomatic interpersonal skills, and the ability to succeed working independently as well as collaboratively as part of a team. High energy but also tact and poise are important qualities.

The qualified individual will have:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Journalism, English, Marketing, or a related field
  • 0-2 years of related experience editing/writing client reports or proposals in a professional services environment (internship or academic experience may qualify)
  • Applicable editorial experience, which includes impeccable attention to detail as well as the ability to analyze and interpret complex documents
  • Proficiency in project and time management. The ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced work environment is critical.
  • Familiarity with Associated Press (AP) writing style
  • Good eye for graphical presentation in documents, with a high level of creativity and proven ability to consistently develop clean, clear, high quality, professional documents with a “final publication” appearance.
  • Proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office, including Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.

Desired skills:

  • Experience with proposal preparation and/or marketing communications
  • Knowledge or experience working with the public sector and/or consulting firms
  • Experience using Adobe Creative Suite including Illustrator and Photoshop
  • Experience working in a small office environment and wearing multiple hats highly desirable.
