Position: Senior Visual Designer

What: Rover.com is seeking an experienced visual designer with a passion for perfecting simple and stunning user interfaces. Our ideal candidate excels at balancing usability with desirability – using color, style, typography, icons, and information design to clarify data, indicate relationships, hint at behavior, communicate brand, and, ultimately, inspire and delight Rover users.
The Senior Visual Designer will work closely with product management, UX, and engineering to create engaging designs that reflect business requirements, support user needs, and are technically feasible. In collaboration with the marketing team, he/she will be the driving force in determining the best ways for us to visually represent our company’s identity online. As needed, the Senior Visual Designer will direct the work of outside design resources and/or junior designers.
Qualifications:
- A degree in Graphic Design, Interaction Design, Visual Communication, New Media, or other relevant field.
- Minimum 7 years of experience producing exciting, innovative visuals for web-based products and/or modern software applications.
- Exceptional ability in graphic design and typography.
- Deep understanding of branding as it relates to user experience.
- Superb ability to apply a brand’s look and feel across web and mobile.
- Bonus: Ability to craft compelling marketing collateral, both digital and print.
- Bonus: Experience designing for mobile devices.
To be considered, candidates must share a portfolio of work that demonstrates exceptional visual design skill and stylistic breadth. Portfolios should include examples of interactive work with a focus on feature-rich web products.
