Position: Web Developer
Where: Bainbridge Island
What: The Web Developer builds and maintains the Far Bank consumer websites, working with the marketing teams and interactive agencies to deliver high quality web properties that support marketing initiatives.
Responsibilities:
Build and Maintain Far Bank Consumer Websites
• Work with far bank brand and third party teams to plan out changes to the websites
• Make technical and usability recommendations on above initiatives, especially on new functionality
• Configure and deploy seasonal product and asset updates
• Management of site code repository
• Manage hosting platform
• Build and deploy new functionality
• Bug fixes
Deliver Continual, Incremental Website Improvements
• Increase page load performance through code and hosting changes
• recommend usability changes based on ecommerce goals and industry best practices
• Improve site wide usability based on analytics data and industry best practices
• Increase security on the sites
Website Platform 3 Year Road Map
• Work with ecommerce manager to gather thorough business requirements from senior staff and brand managers
• Continue research into current web standards, including mobile and responsive designs
• Analysis of best practices and trends to support platform recommendations
Requirements:
• BS in Computer Science or Related Work Experience
• 3+ years of web development experience on lamp environments
• End to end understanding about the server and browser environments and technologies, including html, css, javascript, php, mysql, apache
• Understanding of object oriented software development and common software engineering patterns
• Experience with modern software development life cycles
• Experience developing, maintaining and debugging structured web applications, using model view controller or similar patterns
• Strong coding and troubleshooting skills throughout the complete web application
• Experience using modern code repository tools, including git
• Experience deploying, performance tuning and troubleshooting on cloud based hosting platforms, including aws
• Solid understanding of ux principles for web applications, specifically mobile applications
