Position: Drupal Developer

If you are an experienced Drupal Developer, you have come to the right place! IHME has an outstanding opportunity for a backend Drupal Web Developer. This is a benefits-eligible assignment that is projected to last 6 months with the possibility of extension. There is a number of high-impact projects for the IHME website and the Global Health Data Exchange (GHDx), the world’s largest catalog and repository of health-related data. Their development team needs support for building features, assisting in the development and day-to-day maintenance of several web sites, and helping refine Drupal based applications and online tools. The Drupal Developer will report to the Director of Information Technology.
Technical Responsibilities Include:
• Update and develop new web features, services, pages, and sites for institute projects, the main external website, and the GHDx.
• Support the migration of websites to Drupal 7
• Update templates, build modules and perform UI customizations.
• Provide routine maintenance and upgrades for institute websites.
• Test and debug new and existing web features, services, and pages across browsers, including some mobile.
• Assist with design for new websites page layouts and components.
• Maintain thorough documentation of all programs and procedures.
Requirements:
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field or concentration, or equivalent experience.
• Minimum 2 years web development and programming, with a strong foundation using PHP, CSS, HTML, MySQL, and JavaScript.
• Development experience with the Drupal 7; ability to make template updates, build modules, and perform UI customizations.
• Outstanding interpersonal skills, including team ethic and relationship building.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills; exceptional decision-making skills.
• Ability to deliver quality systems and work under constant deadline pressures.
Preferred skills:
• Experience with JavaScript libraries such as jQuery and D3.js.
• Demonstrated track record of innovative solutions deploying and supporting IT initiatives.
• Interest in the promotion of global health.
• Experience with source control such as SVN, GIT, or Mercurial.
