Position: Senior Interactive Developer
Where: Seattle
What: Rational is looking for a Senior Interactive Developer who will work on multiple projects and lend their experience across the stack (front end development, mid-tier, and back-end database integration). This role is contract to hire and you will onsite working directly with clients.
Responsibilities/Requirements:They are looking for someone with strong technical ability in areas such as HTML5, CSS3, and JavaScript/jQuery are a must, as are effective communication skills, including the ability to work with a wide variety of stakeholders.
And the following:
• Development of HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript/jQuery, and other code to deliver on project functional requirements.
• Work closely with UX designers.
• Ability to be agile building prototypes with quick turnaround.
• Function effectively in a high-volume, fast-changing work environment while managing multiple time-critical issues.
• Act as technical advisor to business owners, project management, user experience designers and backend development teams regarding front-end development standards and processes.
• Maintain current knowledge of industry trends and developments.
Required Qualifications and Experience
• 5+ years professional experience in HTML and CSS
• 2+ years professional experience in HTML5 and CSS3
• Strong problem solving, technical troubleshooting, and decision-making skills, as well as excellent communication, negotiating, and diplomatic abilities
• 3+ years in developing front-end code for database-driven commercial Web sites.
• 4+ years professional experience in JavaScript, including at least 1 year working with jQuery, or the demonstrated capacity to very quickly learn and apply existing scripting abilities
• 1+ years professional experience with either C#/.NET or open source technologies (PHP, Python, Ruby) developing web services.
• 1+ years professional experience with either T-SQL/SQL Azure or MySQL/PostgreSQL/NoSQL building databases to support web or mobile projects.
• Demonstrated success in leading the development effort of online projects, including experience in leading, supporting, and mentoring other developers
• Strong ability to advise and negotiate with business owners on project feature requests, timelines, best practices, usability, etc.
• Solid understanding of Web concepts such as UI best practices, SEO, etc.
Desired
• Development experience in one or more of the following areas: Responsive design/development and mobile device applications and/or optimized Web sites
• Familiarity with the following frameworks: RequireJS, Node.JS CSS LESS, Jira, Crucible, Stash
