Position: Senior Web Designer
Where: Seattle
What: If you’re good at creating awesome designs and graphics, intuitive web interfaces, and optimized web pages, En Masse Entertainment wants to talk to you! They are currently seeking a Senior Web Designer to create and refine the various sites within their web presence. This person will work in an open and collaborative environment and strive to increase awareness of En Masse and the games they publish.
Responsibilities:
First and foremost, they’re looking for a designer who can review style guides and specs and use them to design engaging, visually stunning, and mobile-ready web pages. If you can also guide other designers along the design process with proven expertise in cultivating talent into awesome results, that’s a plus!
If you had been a Senior Web Designer for En Masse over the last few months, here’s some of the stuff you would have done:
• Helped guide the execution of other designers on web deliverables;
• Guided the design team on best practices, from web design trends all the way down to managing Photoshop layers;
• Generated and tweaked wireframes to help team members visualize alternate page layouts and information hierarchy options;
• Augmented wireframes with notes explaining interaction points;
• Developed a new visual look for a game brand site by creating high-fidelity mockups in Photoshop or Fireworks;
• Processed visual identity assets created by the art team for use on our websites;
• Overhauled our email templates with an improved layout and visual design optimized for content consumption;
• Redesigned a landing page with a goal of enticing users to want to learn more about a content release; and
• Chuckled at one of the front end developers when they wore the jester hat after they broke the site.
Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in Web Design or equivalent degree/experience
• 6+ years designing pages that incorporate the modern web effects of the time (and knowing when you should or should not use them)
• Proven ability to mentor other designers in their professional development
• Proven ability to create clean, engaging, and intuitive web designs in Photoshop/Illustrator/the tool of your choice
• Ability to create responsive, mobile-friendly designs that prioritize the proper content in an environment of varying screen sizes
• Proven ability to effectively communicate vague design and interaction concepts using wireframes and other similar tools
• Ability to identify areas where different layouts or interface elements could improve a page

• Drive for a consistent, yet unique web presence
Plusses:
You won’t need these skills to succeed as a Senior Web Designer for En Masse, but they will help you stand out!
• Experience with user interface and user experience design concepts
• Experience developing front-end code for websites (HTML, CSS, JavaScript)
• Experience implementing HTML inside Ruby view templates
• Familiarity with version control systems, especially Git
• Experience copy editing
• Passion for video games, especially MMORPGs
