Position: UX/UI Designer
Where: Seattle
What: This position will be responsible for information architecture and web interaction. In this role you will be proactive in influencing the user experience direction, as well as designing innovative solutions.
Essential Tasks and Duties:
- Conduct user research to understand user needs & requirements and to validate design decisions
- Work with stakeholders to help refine user requirements, create wireframes, and inform the visual design of web and mobile applications
- Create user interface implementation specs for the teams in the form of a UI Specification
- Coordinate interface solutions with Program Managers and Product Managers for specific assignments
- Work closely with back-end developers to ensure that products are being implemented to spec and to find ways to push the limits of existing technologies
Additional Responsibilities and Duties:
- Follow all company policies and procedures
- Perform all other duties as required
- Overtime as required
- Travel as required to support Zonar’s needs
Knowledge and Skills:
- Strong application design skills, including information architecture, interface design and visual design
- Ability to understand and interpret existing site design, mobile design and style guides to inform your work
- A solid understanding of designing intuitive application functionality, interaction, web site architecture, user interfaces, and navigation
- Highly collaborative, ability to perform in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment while managing multiple projects
- Experience with storyboarding, user persona development, designing user/process flow diagrams, sketches, wireframes, click-through demos, or prototypes
- Present user interface concepts and design approaches clearly and convincingly
- Excellent written, oral and diagrammatic communication skills, comfortable working with and presenting to all levels of the organization
- Working knowledge of industry standard visual design tools, including but not limited to: Balsamiq, Photoshop, Illustrator
Education:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Graphic Design or Interaction Design, related field or equivalent work experience required
- MS in Human Factors or Human-Computer Interaction a plus
Experience:
- Minimum of 2 — 5 years of experience designing UI solutions for mobile and\or web products
- Experience with task analysis and modeling, navigation systems, contextual inquiry, usability inspection methods, and usability testing preferred
- Understanding of Android Human Interface Guidelines a plus
