What: Bryant Christie Inc. (BCI) is a unique, dynamic, and fast growing international trade consulting firm seeking Web application developer candidates that are innovative, experienced, problem solvers and are interested in growing into a leadership position. The position would fall within BCI’s Technology Services division and is located at its Seattle office. BCI sees its Technology Services division as a lucrative area for the firm, and is actively engaged in seeking team members and resources to dramatically expand that division.
This successful candidate will play a pivotal role in these expansion efforts, serving as an integral part in developing and maintaining Web applications that manage and interpret complex data. Candidates should have experience in interpreting user-driven requirements into secure, maintainable, and flexible application code. Depending on the project BCI’s stack has included C#, SQL Server, Backbone.js, React.js, Handlebars.js, Ampersand.js, Gulp, Bootstrap and SASS.
The Technology Services division develops and maintains online application systems that contain global regulatory standards affecting agricultural and food trade, as well as databases that help organizations with their international trade efforts. One publicly available online example can be viewed at www.globalmrl.com. BCI is in the process of looking to expand this and other online systems. As such, the firm is looking to enhance its in-house capabilities in Web application development and leadership.
Responsibilities:
Create new and improve existing Web applications
Take ownership of projects and help the division and company grow
Develop, test, and debug Web APIs
Engineer straight-forward solutions for complex problems
Build and maintain strong working relationships within the Technology Services division, other BCI divisions/teams, and external clients
Meet project deliverables and ensure timely construction of Web applications
Write secure and maintainable code
Requirements:
Good interpersonal/organizational skills, with the ability to perform as a team member
Excellent communication skills, with the ability to converse with non-tech clients
Self-motivated, with the ability to simultaneously manage multiple projects.
Candidates should have demonstrable experience in the following technologies:
3+ years of writing high level HTML, CSS, and JavaScript
3+ years of writing object-oriented code in server-side languages (such as C#, Java, PHP, or Ruby)
Engineering single-page applications (Ember, Backbone, Angular, etc,)
Building responsive CSS
Understanding and use of MVC frameworks
Interacting with Web APIs and complex databases
Writing SQL queries
