Position: Sr. Web Developer

What: DataSphere is looking for a Senior Web Developer for our LocalSaver.com consumer brand. The successful candidate will have experience working on a high-visibility site and have an eye for building a product that delights users, but also drives business. Knowing how to research and make a case for the required design/feature and keeping up to date with the latest trends in design, usability and technologies, will be critical for this role. If you have a passion for visualizing the user experience and building it from the ground up, we want to speak to you. You will be responsible for building a world-class user experience for this up-and-coming local savings website.
Responsibilities:
- Build and own features on our web platform, move the platform forward, write high quality HTML/CSS/JS for mobile and desktop
- Work closely with Program and Product Managers to gather design requirements, using LocalSaver’s brand guidelines as you build out new features and update existing designs to be more consumer-friendly
- Help to implement A/B testing on new feature requests
- Stay up-to-date on the latest web technologies, UX guidelines, trends in both mobility and mobile/desktop web, and up-and-coming technologies that could benefit LocalSaver.com
- Experience or capability of leading a small group of web developers a big plus
Requirements:
- 5+ years of web development experience
- Excellent attention to detail. You obsess about your code. Software testers can’t stand you because you’ve already thought through all of the use cases
- You know design principles and patterns and are experienced in applying them
- Be a platform thinker. You are way beyond writing well-structured code. You consider performance, scalability, share-ability, reusability and readability
- You think as product owner. You constantly seek to improve user experiences and only rarely consider them truly done
- Deep understanding of the tools (Visual Studio, Sublime Text, etc). You love keyboard shortcuts anything that makes you more efficient
- Solid understanding of your craft. You’re a CSS, HTML and JavaScript expert, but more importantly, you understand the underlying principles and could apply them to any programming language
- Experience in using or interacting with a server-side language. C#/.NET experience will be especially helpful, but also NodeJS, GO
- Caring attitude and good communication. You believe people always come first and you live this out
- Business-based mind that is capable of tying design decisions to expected metric outcomes
- Ability to learn complicated systems quickly and maintain the knowledge across a team
- Ability to interact successfully with cross-functional teams (Sales, Technology, Marketing, Finance) with ease
