We are currently looking for a Systems Engineer to join our Operations team. In this strategic position you will design, manage, and implement core aspects of Smartsheet’s infrastructure. We’re looking for a motivated individual who will develop and deploy configuration management solutions, assist and resolve production escalations, and iterate on improving both production and pre-production environments.
This position will report directly to the Director of Infrastructure Engineering & Operations and is located in our Bellevue, WA headquarters.
Responsibilities:
- Participate in planning and deployment of critical infrastructure.
- Support the existing infrastructure product as its user base and functionality grows
- Provide input and design towards the evolution of the backend of the Smartsheet product
- Conduct in-depth technical investigations
- Rotating escalation support to our on-call staff of our production infrastructure
Requirements:
- 3+ years of work experience in a production Linux environment
- Insatiable desire to learn and understand technology
- Fluent in at least one programming language
- Superb troubleshooting skills
- Familiarity with Kerberos, LDAP, and other SSO solutions
- Knowledge of relational databases and SQL
- Puppet and MCollective exposure
- Understanding of web security, e.g. OWASP
- Experience with RPM based Linux distributions, managing and deploying system and application monitoring
