What: Varsity Tutors, one of the fastest-growing eCommerce companies in the country, is seeking talented Front End Developers to help us dramatically scale our digital learning technology and national platform. We operate a live learning platform with high-quality tutors, mobile learning apps, online tutoring environments, and other academic and test prep-focused technologies. We connect students to top tutors nationally and have over 15,000 tutors on our platform. Our company has grown rapidly over the last few years and we promote a fun, collaborative work environment. Front End Developers will report directly to the Chief Technology Officer and be heavily involved in UX/UI areas of our site.

Turn mockups into fast, efficient JavaScript-driven pixel perfect front-end implementations
Driven to improving the front-end experience through reducing load time, decreasing requests and shrinking page footprints
Improve our brand across all of our media channels

Requirements:
Experience with the Rails framework
Ability to create design ideas in Photoshop
Rapidly build prototypes through wireframes or lightweight HTML prototypes
Experience with cutting PSD’s into UI elements
In depth knowledge with HTML(5) and CSS3
Experience with SCSS/SASS
Experience with jQuery
Experience with heavily AJAXed front-ends
Experience with Bootstrap
Experience with Compass
Experience with CSS image sprites
Experience with the Git framework
