Position: IT Helpdesk and Systems Technician
Where: Redmond
What: The IT Helpdesk and Systems Technician is a entry level position, responsible for providing routine end-user hardware and software support to staff and residents. In addition to IT support tasks, this position is also responsible for medical alert call system maintenance, Comcast services, phone wire/block troubleshooting, printer/copiers and AV setup and support. This position reports to the IT Systems Administrator (IT SA) and may involve working closely to help implement projects such as implementation of new systems and devices, data collection and documentation, and development of new processes.
Responsibilities:
- Provides first tier workstation helpdesk support to staff and residents.
- Provides training and assistance to computer end-users.
- Images new workstations and performs delivery and setup to end users.
- Sets up laptops, projectors, microphones, and other AV equipment.
- Maintains inventory and deployment of cable TV boxes.
- Maintains and troubleshoots phone cabling, telephone extensions, line moves.
- Performs regular and on-demand maintenance and troubleshooting of medical alert nurse call devices, UP devices, information displays and other devices.
- Ensures that support tickets are processed and completed efficiently and timely.
- Interfaces with IT staff, service providers, or related technical support services to resolve problems.
- Assists the IT SA in ensuring the continued operation of enterprise systems. Tasks may include, but are not limited to, performing system monitoring, minor maintenance, preventive maintenance, and implementation of changes and upgrades to network hardware and software.
- Assists the IT SA in creating and maintaining IT documentation and maintenance procedures.
- Assists the IT SA in maintaining all original software media and documentation in an organized manner.
- Assists the IT SA in maintaining inventory and maintenance logs.
- Other duties as assigned, may include working during evening and night if needed.
Requirments:
- AA degree or certificate in a related computer field or equivalent experience.
- One year experience in computer helpdesk and/or client services role preferred
- Valid Washington Driver’s license.
- Must be an expert with Microsoft Windows operating systems (7,8,10) and the Microsoft Office suite.
- Experience with rapid imaging and deployment of workstations, laptops and devices
- Knowledge of basic networking and client/server concepts preferred.
- Knowledge of Microsoft AD permissions and Exchange connectivity preferred.
- Ability to troubleshoot as well as pull and properly terminate new network/phone cabling.
- Ability to multi-task while reliably completing scheduled and on-demand maintenance tasks.
- Must have good to excellent technical troubleshooting skills.
- Ability to provide software instruction for computer users of deferring levels of experience.
- Ability to understand, set and adhere to priorities
- Ability to follow directions, document progress, and clearly report progress to IT SA on demand.
- Ability to accurately record process steps in writing into a reproducible process
- Ability to provide a truly excellent level of customer service and follow-up is a must
- Must have excellent English communications skills including verbal and written.
