What: PayScale is seeking a smart, energetic experience software engineer to lead our Conversion and Retention team. The Conversion and Retention team is responsible for a high quality, personalized experience for all visitors to www.payscale.com. We guide the user to the best data experience for their needs– whether it’s guiding them through our consumer-focused survey or into a trial of our B2B product.

Our platform is mostly built in C#/.NET with a web UI in ASP.NET/Javascript. We’re also using open-source solutions including: MongoDB, RabbitMQ, ServiceStack, React, D3, and others.
Responsibilities:
Lead a small team of engineers
Work with product owners and other engineer managers to develop the feature set, schedule, roadmap
Maintain and innovate our consumer survey and reporting experience
Track metrics across all visitors to identify pain points in our consumer product
Personalize our features based on user-provided data
Understand and leverage our large scale compensation model and deep data analytics to help people understand and maximize their value in the workplace
Maintain, enhance and re-engineer existing infrastructure
Ensure high performance and scalability
Requirements:
Experience leading a small agile team of developers.
Work experience with a consumer-facing Internet company
Strong coding and debugging skills in an object oriented language like C#/Java
Development experience with Web Application Servers: ASP.NET/JSP/Ruby on Rails
Good grasp of Web fundamentals
Familiarity with Agile Methodologies
7-8 years’ experience
