What: Invintus Media Inc. is currently seeking a developer to expand and maintain web-based applications and services. We are looking for a JavaScript developer with PHP experience responsible for managing the interchange of data between the server and the users. The primary focus is the development of server-side logic, definition and maintenance of data sources, and ensuring high performance and responsiveness to requests from the front-end. You will also be responsible for integration of front-end elements built by Invintus engineers into the applications. An understanding of front-end design is critical. The position requires a team player with the ability to work independently. Invintus operates in a small team environment so we encourage input, ingenuity, time-management and the ability to meet deadlines.
Responsibilities:
Development and integration of server-side and client-side services
Writing reusable, testable, and efficient code
Design and implementation of low-latency, high-availability, enterprise-level applications
Implementation of security and data protection
Integration with data storage solutions (MySQL)
Solve complex technical, scalability or performance challenges
Requirements:
Positive thinking and a team player
Motivation and exceptional interpersonal skills
Strong proficiency with native JavaScript and PHP
Knowledge of JavaScript and PHP frameworks
Understanding the nature of asynchronous programming and its quirks and alternatives
Basic understanding of front-end technologies such as HTML5, CSS3, CSS pre-processors, and build systems
Understand accessibility and security compliance
User authentication and authorization between multiple systems, servers, and environments
Understand fundamental design principles behind a scalable application
Creating database schemas that represent and support business processes
Implement automated testing platforms and unit tests
Proficient understanding of version control tools such as Git
Competency in unix-like systems. (Linux, OS X)
Knowledge of Streaming Video technologies
