What: The New York Times describes PaperG as “an ad engine to put Mad Men out of business.” We’re changing how digital ads are created and distributed by automating much of what people thought couldn’t be done by computer. Our technology retrieves all relevant content about an advertiser across the web to intelligently design a beautiful set of ads for desktop, tablet, and mobile devices all in under a minute.
Responsibilities:
Do you enjoy writing web services and crunching data? Is building a data visualization system that handles billions of events something that excites you? Do you want to work on a precision measurement instrument that backs the advertisements for some of the world’s biggest companies?
If so, come join the Tracking and Reporting team and work on a 24/7 system that’s critical to PaperG’s success.
We use a mix of programming languages and AWS technologies. RESTful web services for putting data into and pulling data out of the system are written in Node.js, Java, Python and numerous AWS technologies like S3, Kinesis, Redshift and DynamoDB run the internals. EC2 enables us to scale and handle load spikes on the order of hundreds of millions of events in a single day.
We write high quality and well tested code backed by detailed engineering design documents. Suites of API tests and unit tests provide a safety net against regressions. In-depth code reviews are the norm. There’s no cutting corners here.
